October 1st was a busy Sunday for Gold Star! We had three youth teams playing in the Lax Fall Jam Tournament in CT, and four high school teams playing in the Terrier Challenge at Boston University
Gold Star Air Force played in the 5/6th Division at the Fall Jam. The early start time didn’t phase these girls, and the team ended up going 4-0 in round robin play! The team played stellar defense and had excellent goaltending – the most goals let up in their round robin games was 4!! Air Force went on to the playoff round, and lost in a braveheart to eventual champion GSE. Way to go girls!
Gold Star Army and Gold Star Marines both played in the 7/8th Division at the Fall Jam. Both teams did an excellent job playing together, working the ball through the midfield, and trying new things learned at practice! Both Army and Marines ended the day with a 2-2 record. Keep working hard ladies!
Our 4 high school teams did a great job at the Terrier Challenge 5 v 5 tournament at Boston University. This was an awesome opportunity for our players to visit a college campus, and play some fast-paced lacrosse! The games were only 4 v 4 (field players) on a half-court type field, and each game was only 6 minutes. This style of tournament calls for good stick work with both hands, quick-ball movement, and teamwork! All teams played well together and got to face some good competition. Great job girls!
