We hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving, and got to spend some quality time with friends and family! And of course we hope you all got to eat some delicious turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce…. YUM!

We were right back at it on Friday November 24th at the Turkey Challenge tournament at Forekicks in Marlborough. This was a perfect way to start the winter season (and work off all of that food!). The indoor tournaments are always very different than the outdoor and full-field tournaments. Indoor 7 v 7 is a smaller space with less players on the field, and each player is touching the ball more (think box lacrosse). To be successful at these tournaments you and your team need to have exceptional stick skills! Quick ball movement, being able to catch, throw, clear, and shoot with less room is the name of the game.

Our 5 Gold Star teams did a great job! There were a ton of learning moments, improvements from game to game, and also wins! A big shout out to Gold Star Navy in the 5/6th division – the girls won their semi-final game by 1 in OT, and made it to the championship game before falling to ME. Way to go!!

Gold Star Navy headed to the finals!

We are really excited to begin our indoor practices at John Smith! It is our focus to increase each player’s fitness, footwork and stickwork so that they are ready for the spring and summer season – both for their town and Gold Star team!! March 19th (first day of high school tryouts) will be here before you know it!
